As a partner of the regions where it operates, Veolia contributes to initiatives supporting local impacts and development and incorporates its actions in regional solidarity programs.

 In order to optimize the quality of service it provides, Veolia teams must take rapid action and have in-depth knowledge of the regions they work in. For this reason, Veolia recruits its staff locally. Wherever Veolia operates, it promotes the dynamics of the local economy.
 Veolia works with many local structures in the form of mediation and social dialogue, protecting biodiversity, protecting resources and educational programs. These actions boost employment, promote responsible behaviour and optimize the quality of service provided.
 Veolia is aware of its social responsibilities and develops partnerships with several types of structures in order to simplify training pathways for refresher courses and to acquire new environmental and service-related skills.
 

Access to a public water service for all is a priority. Aiming to take a step beyond ad hoc support, Veolia has designed water access programs, with 3 parts: emergency assistance (financial aid with paying bills or funding connections), assistance with consultancy services and mediation, and prevention (information and awareness programs).
