Veolia has won a EUR 12.1 million contract to assist Cameroon with its project to improve drinking water supply in Yaoundé

The Cameroon Ministry of Water and Energy has just awarded Seureca, Veolia’s consulting engineers group, the project management contract for the Paepys project to build a drinking water treatment plant that will triple drinking water production for Yaoundé. For Seureca, this five-year contract represents revenue of EUR 12.1 million.

This project represents an investment of €600 million and will eventually meet the drinking water needs of the
Cameroon capital’s population, with a new drinking water plant producing 300,000 cubic meters per day, or the
equivalent consumption of a city the size of Marseille (France).

Under this contract, Seureca is responsible for signing off on the engineering studies, supervising and inspecting
the works, including the construction of 58 kilometers of network, 63 kilometers of transfer pipes, two pumping
stations and distribution tanks. At the height of the supervision, 28 Seureca employees will be resident on site.

“This success, within the context of a major water supply project in Africa, is confirmation of Seureca’s expertise
in international project management contracts in the field of water. The Paepys project will benefit from our
extensive experience in major projects in Africa for water treatment, conveyance and distribution,” explained
Philippe Bloch, Director General.
