World Water Week 2018

World Water Week is the annual focal point for discussing global water and development issues. The Forum, scheduled for 26th to 31st August 2018, is organized by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). It will bring together more than 3,000 representatives from governments, private sector, multilateral organizations, civil society and academia to shape joint solutions to global water challenges of today. This year, World Water Week will address the theme: “Water, ecosystems and human Development”.

For the third year, Veolia will support Stockholm World Water Week as an official Contributor. Accompanied by some of its partners, Veolia will take part in the discussions and seminars, sharing its own experience and offering solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Session 1: Leveraging Pay-As-You-Go and New Technologies For Universal Accessible Water Access
Sunday 26th, 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Creating new economic incentives for private and public water sector players is key to solving service inequalities. Veolia and CityTaps will highlight a partnership model involving breakthrough Pay-As-You-Go rate system and smart water access technology to demonstrate its effectiveness in transforming access to on-premises water.

Session 2: Making best use of WASH Finance– a conversation with IFIs
Monday August 27th, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

The role of international finance institutions in accelerating progress on the SDGs, including increasing financial flows and allowing more effective finance – how can a global partnership help optimize and harmonize?
