Tomago’s key requirements were to arrest the decline in energy and water asset performance, reduce impact from waste and reduce the overall total cost of ownership, plus ensure that services are delivered professionally and in a safe manner.
Having initially been awarded an industrial cleaning and environmental services contract with Tomago in 2005, Veolia has since become a trusted-partner, introducing water management and energy solutions to provide a fully integrated service to Tomago.
To reduce energy output and increase energy performance, Veolia developed a HVAC master plan, containing six key strategies to meet and exceed customer requisites; delivered by a management team who were trained in addressing the unique operating characteristics of Tomago’s facility. Veolia provided a comprehensive environmental management service as a single source of supplier with an inclusive suite of services:
- Amalgamated Plant Services: high pressure water jetting, vacuum loading, materials separation, and recycling, general support services to smelting operations.
- Waste Management and Resource Recovery: handling of processed waste for recovery, general waste and recyclables, hazardous liquid waste collection.
- Facilities and Civil Maintenance: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roof replacement, road and concrete repairs, painting and road sweeping.
- Refractory Services: potline and ladle strip-out, installation, commissioning and equipment.
- Integrated HVAC services: including on-site mobile plant monitoring.
- Water management: current off-site water management, with Tomago agreement for future on-site water recycling and reuse infrastructure.
