
The client produces oil off the coast of Mauritania and generates, by maintenance operations, regular volumes of sludge that are stored in big-bags prior to disposal. The client’s production of hazardous and potentially NORM-contaminated wastes (NORM = naturally occurring radioactive material) reached over 250t and required a high reactivity and strong expertise in segregation and characterization techniques to assure the disposal and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.

State-of-the-art mobile equipment used by highly qualified personnel allowed the characterization of soils, installations, pipes, tanks, wastes, sludge, and other samples in a limited time.
